Answer: with the flat-jack you can level your caravan, folding caravan, or camper until she is exactly horizontal, if you are on a slope on a camping or even outside the camping area. You can then sleep horizontal without rolling over each other in your bed. You avoid water in your sink which keeps standing in a corner. And you can cook perfectly horizontal on a level surface.

Answer: yes, you can stand with your flat-jack directly on small river stones and gravel campings. The flat-jack material is polyurethane, which is resistant to small river stones and gravel. Even with a heavy camper of 6000 kgs you can use the flat-jacks on these gravel campings. But we always advise our clients to prevent the flat-jack from a leak caused by too sharp stones, by putting a protective mat (floor mat or carpet tile) under the flat-jack. Between the stones there could be a piece of glass or a tent herring, so it is always wise to protect your flat-jack.

Answer: always remove big stones and rocks before you put the flat-jack in place.

Answer: in the flat-jack you will find an IN valve. This is exactly the same valve like in your car wheel, so the flat-jack has a universal valve. With any bike pump, foot pump or multicompressor you can inflate your flat-jack on this universal IN valve. Attention: almost all modern bike pumps have a double adapter. One side for bike tyre pumping and the other side for car tyre pumping. The flat-jack is inflated with the car tyre pumping side of your bike pump.

Answer: the ramps for leveling recreational vehicles are indeed on the market for more than even 50 years. The flat-jack is the first modern alternative which has many advantages:

  1. Biggest advantage of the flat-jack: not driving on a slope of the ramp, but driving on a simple flat cushion of the flat-jack, so far more easy to mount.
  2. Second advantage of the flat-jack: level much more detailed, even on the millimeter, because the flat-jack operates with air, which is stepless. You can be perfectly horizontal.
  3. Third advantage: you drive on the flat flat-jack, inflate the flat-jack, and ready. You never have to relocate the flat-jack anymore, like with the ramps. With a flat-jack you are directly on the right spot. You only have to pump for reaching the right height and that’s it.
  4. Fourth advantage: the flat-jack has a big surface, so she does not sink in the mud like ramps. Digging out the flat-jacks is not necessary. And driving off the flat-jacks in wet circumstances is far more easy, because the flat-jack is 66 cm long, so you have a long runway to get out of the muddy ground.

Answer: on normal campings you can use a simple ultra lightweight foam mat (the ones you use for doing your garden work on your knees), or a floor mat. In cases you are outside the campings and more adventurous, like in the mountains, in the fjords in Norway, in the forest, etc. we advise to use a protective mat which is more thick, like a carpet tile or even a classic coconut mat (without holes) or a wooden or metal plate under the flat-jack for extra protection against tree roots in the forest, stones, rocks, etc. Always first remove any big stones, etc. before you put up your recreational vehicle and use your experienced camper brains to decide whether the place is suitable for using your flat-jack.

Answer: Never mount or dismount from a full flat-jack. If you do so you can damage your flat-jack. This is not covered by the guarantee. Only drive on and off a flat flat-jack!

Answer: The instructions for use will be sent to you together with your invoice when you order your flat-jack through our webshop. If you do not have this e-mail with invoice and instructions for use anymore, you can send us a request through the contact form on the flat-jack website to receive again the instructions for use of the flat-jack.

On normal campings the following amount of flat-jacks is sufficient:

Normal camper (with 4 wheels)2 flat-jacks needed to lift the 2 lowest wheels on the slope, in order to level your camper
Normal caravan or folding caravan (with 2 wheels)1 flat-jack needed to lift the lowest wheel on the slope, in order to level your (folding) caravan
Big camper (with 6 wheels, tandem-axle camper, 1 front axle and 2 back axles)3 flat-jacks needed to lift the lowest wheels on the slope, in order to level your tandem-axle camper
Big caravan (with 4 wheels tandem-axle caravan with 2 axles)2 flat-jacks needed to lift the lowest wheels on the slope, in order to level your tandem-axle caravan

If you are often outside the campings with your camper, so camping in the wild, then you will encounter situations in which you also need 3 flat-jacks (instead of 2) with your normal 4-wheel camper. Reason fort his is that the slopes are not only in 1 direction, but in several directions, like high in the Pyrenees or Alps or in the mountain forests or fjords in Norway. In those cases you need a third flat-jack to correct the third wheel to be level. This only holds for the adventurous people who often camp outside campings and in extremer ground circumstances. Normally you only need 2 flat-jacks for leveling your camper on normal camping situations.

Answer: the flat-jack Camper 2.0 is happily flat, of course when the air is out! The diameter of the completely round flat-jack is 62 cms (she is a fully round circle). Furthermore, the flat-jack is foldable at two sides (fold it beneath the hard inside parts), and then you arrive at 28×62 cms of flat storage. The flat-jack Camper Plus fits into the upper cabinets of most motorhomes and caravans. But also between the seats or under the seats. So you need much less storage space with a flat-jack than with the voluminous classic wedges, because the flat-jack is perfectly flat.

Answer: yes, stacking is possible, but not for the new and round flat-jacks Camper 2.0 which we sell, but only for the old version flat-jack Camper. Those are square and only reach a maximum height of 6 cms. They can be stacked, maximum 2 on each other, so you reach 12 cms at 2×119=238 euros. With the new flat-jacks Camper 2.0 version you reach with 1 cushion at 149 euros already 20 cms, which makes these new ones far more cheaper and the height is far better.

Answer: in case of a tandem axle motorhome (two rear axes behind each other) you act as follow: measure the heart-to-heart distance between both wheels (center cap to center cap of the wheel). Then you put the flat-jacks on the ground behind each other just before the first wheel (or behind the second wheel) at the lowest side on the slope, in length direction, with the distance between the flat-jacks yellow arrows exactly the same as the heart-to-heart distance from the wheels. Then drive onto the flat-jacks (still flat) until the middle of the wheel is in line with the yellow arrow: if the first wheel is ok, then the second one is automatically also ok. Then inflate both flat-jacks, if necessary in stages the first one and then the second one, then the first one again, etc. Just until your water level device tells you that you are perfectly horizontal.

Camper 2.0 (10)

Answer: no, even children of 6 or 7 years old can pump up a heavy 6000 kgs camper, because the flat-jack camper 2.0 only needs 1.5 bar of pressure since the flat-jack has a big surface which lifts the camper easily at little pressure. With a simple bike pump you pump up a normale bike’s tyre at 4 to 5 bar pressure, so pumping up a flat-jack with only 1.5 bar of pressure is far more light and easy as pumping up a bike’s tyre. Ideal.

Answer: you can lift all motorhomes and 4×4 jeeps (with rooftent) until 6000 kgs of total vehicle weight. Most motorhomes are below 3500 kgs of total weight, so in practice the flat-jack lifts almost all motorhomes, also big ones, easily. Attention: a flat-jack Camper 2.0 lifts per wheel then at maximum 1500 kgs (6000 kgs: 4 = 1500 kgs). Caravans and folding trailers are mostly much lighter and generally only have 2 wheels. Also for them the lifting weight of a flat-jack is the same 1500 kgs per wheel. So you can lift any folding trailer or caravan of maximum 3,000 kgs total vehicle weight, because you only lift one wheel of a caravan which is at the lower side on the slope (so half of the total vehicle weight), and the other side is still on the ground.

Answer: no, you cannot stack the big and round flat-jacks Camper 2.0 version. What you can do to reach even more height than the already extreme 20 cms, is to put a wooden plank of 3 or 5 cms height under your flat-jack before mounting. In this way you keep the stability optimal and still reach extra height, so you can conquer even more steep hills (or holes) when leveling.

Answer: the flat-jack camper 2.0 lifts your camping vehicle at maximum 20 cms. The (old-fashioned) ramps only reach 8 to 10 cms, so you will be higher on the flat-jacks than with these classic ramp levelers. So the result is that you can stand on your most favourite place on the camping, even with a high slope, which was not possible with the old ramps, but is possible with the flat-jacks.

Answer: you can perfectly level a tandem axle motorhome (two axles in rear) with the flat-jack Camper 2.0 cushion. If the total weight of your vehicle is under 4500 kgs, then most of the times 1 flat-jack is sufficient (use the flat-jack on the first of the 2 wheels on the rear axes which are behind each other, at the lowest side of the slope). At a total weight above 4500 kgs it is wise to lift both the first and the second wheel which are behind each other on the rear axes at the lowest side of the slope. And of course calculate with another flat-jack for the front axis. For a tandem axle motorhome under 4500 kgs you need in total 2 flat-jacks (1 at front axle and 1 at first wheel of back axle). And for a tandem axle motorhome above 4500 kgs you need in total 3 flat-jacks (1 at front axle and 2 at back tandem axles).

Answer: the big round dimension (diameter 62 cms) of the flat-jack Camper 2.0 means that it is perfect for getting very high, but not always possible to level a dual wheeler motorhome. A dual wheeler motorhome has on the single rear axis two wheels at the right side and two wheels on the right side, so in total 4 wheels on the single back axis. If the two tyres beneath each other measure maximum 305 cms of width together, then you can level easily with 1 flat-jack Camper 2.0. This holds primarily for several older motorhomes with small (not wide) tyres. If both tyres together go over 305 cms of width, then we advise you to choose for our classic flat-jack Camper or flat-jack Camper Plus version for leveling your dual wheeler rear axis. Ask these classic flat-jacks through our contact form on this website.

Answer: At tyre width of maximum 305 mm together of the 2 dual wheels beneath each other on the rear axis you need only 1 flat-jack Camper 2.0 for leveling one side of your rear axis at the lowest side of the slope. The procedure is the same as for a normal motorhome, so place your flat-jack Camper 2.0 centrally and flat in front of or (better) at the back of your dual wheels. Why at the back of the wheels? Because you then can reach your flat-jack valve better with your pump. Then drive onto the flat flat-jack Camper 2.0 and just pump until your leveler device tells you that you are horizontal. Of course also level your front axis (if necessary) at the same time. Always push all your flat-jacks against the tyres before mounting.

Answer: Yes, on the new big and round flat-jack Camper 2.0 leveling cushion you can level all caravan and motorhomes until a maximum of 305 mm of tyre width. On the old style flat-jack Camper and flat-jack Camper Plus versions the maximum tyre width was less: 275 mm. The new flat-jack Camper 2.0 not only goes much higher (20 cms versus 12 cms for the classic flat-jacks) and can handle more pressure (1.5 bar versus 1.2 bar for the classic flat-jacks), but is also useful for even more caravans and motorhomes, which get more and more wider tyres, like the popular 4×4 motorhomes.

Answer: yes, as long as the diameter of the first tyre plus the room at ground level between the two tyres where you want to lift (lowest side of the slope under your caravan) is larger than 62 cms (which is the diameter of the flat-jack Camper 2.0 cushion), then you can perfectly level your tandem axle caravan on the flat-jack Camper 2.0 version. Then preferably use the flat-jack under the firest wheel of the two at one side. The procedure for leveling with the flat-jack is the same as with a normal caravan, but be extra careful in fixing your tandem axle caravan before mounting!

Answer: only 1.5 bar (22 psi) of pressure is needed for the flat-jack camper 2.0 to pump her up to the maximum height of 20 cms. This is a quarter of the pressure that is needed for a simple bicycle (which needs 4 to 5 bar of pressure). This is because the flat-jack cushion has a big round surface, which makes that only little pressure is needed to lift big weight vehicles like a camper on this big cushion. That is the lovely property of air.

Multi-compressor (3)

Answer: in the flat-jack you will find an IN valve. This is exactly the same valve like in your car wheel, so the flat-jack has a universal valve. With any bike pump, foot pump or multicompressor you can inflate your flat-jack on this universal IN valve. Attention: almost all modern bike pumps have a double adapter. One side for bike tyre pumping and the other side for car tyre pumping. The flat-jack is inflated with the car tyre pumping side of your bike pump.

Answer: the multicompressor is more comfortable (less power needed, which comes in handy in hot weather circumstances), but a compressor in general has disadvantages and risks. Disadvantage is that a compressor always makes noise. A bikepump is almost without any noise. And if you are distracted during pumping with the compressor, for example by your mobile phone which rings, then the compressor just keeps on pumping. Always maximise your compressor on the 1.5 bar maximum that your flat-jack Camper 2.0 indicates, before starting the pumping process, so you never over-pump your flat-jack. For the old flat-jack Camper Plus version the maximum was 1.2 bar, by the way. So a bike pump has lower noise, but a multicompressor is more comfortable and has more other extra functions for broad camping use, so the multicompressor is by far the most popular pump for our flat-jack customers all over the world.

Answer: our multicompressor is rechargeable (with 12V and 220V adapter), so she can be used freely all around the motorhome or caravan without cord: that is why she is favourite at our many experienced flat-jack camping clients. Also she has an even more rare deflator button, so you can level in detail with the flat-jacks: ideal for the perfectionists! Many adapters are in the package (for bikes, boats, balls, several SUPs, air tents, car tyres, caravan and motorhome tyres (even until 6.8 bar of pressure), etc.. The multicompressor is super powerful but low in weight (2 kgs) and easily transportable by the big handle. Therefore also utilised as torch at night on the camping and transportable in the bike pockets to pump your bike tyres and load your mobile phone underway (powerbank function with USB). Unique and therefore very popular as side purchase with your flat-jacks! More than half of our flat-jack clients buys this unique multicompressor!

Camper plus (2)

Answer: only 1.2 bar of pressure is needed for the flat-jack camper plus to pump her up to the maximum height of 12 cms. This is a quarter of the pressure that is needed for a simple bicycle (which needs 4 to 5 bar of pressure). This is because the flat-jack cushion has a big surface, which makes that only little pressure is needed to lift big weight vehicles like a camper on this big cushion. That is the lovely property of air. With a lot of square cms (like the flat-jack) air lifts gigantic weights of vehicles easily.

Answer: At tyre width of more than 305 mm together of the 2 dual wheels beneath each other on the rear axis you cannot use the new flat-jack Camper 2.0, but you can use our classic flat-jack Camper or flat-jack Camper Plus cushions for leveling one side of your rear axis at the lowest side of the slope. Ask these classic flat-jacks through our contact form (as long as we have them in stock). The procedure is the same as for a normal motorhome, so place each of your 2 flat-jacks centrally and flat in front of or (better) at the back of each of your dual wheels. Why at the back of the wheels? Because you then can reach your flat-jack valves better with your pump. Then drive onto the flat flat-jacks and just pump until your leveler device tells you that you are horizontal. Of course also level your front axis (if necessary) at the same time. Always push all your flat-jacks against the tyres before mounting!

Guarantee (6)

Answer: Always take care that your camper/caravan/folding caravan is exactly in the middle of your flat-jack. Both in length and in width in the middle. If this is not the case, the load of your vehicle (thousands of kgs) is all focused on one side and can make the weld seam break. This is not a guarantee case, because the instructions for use are clear: put your vehicle exactly in the middle of the flat-jack, so each weld seam (front and back side, right and left side) of your flat-jack is burdened equally by the load. If you have an exploded weld seam, this indicates you either pumped the flat-jack with pressure over the maximum of 1.5 bar or you were not centered in the middle on the flat-jack, so one weld seam was more burdened than the other.

We regret that this has happened to you. That is why we, as flat-jack importer, will make you an appropriate offer, if you send us your flat-jack invoice of us. You can ask for this offer through our contact form on our website.

Damage as a result from not following the instructions for use means there is no guarantee case. Cleaning the ground under the flat-jack is clearly stated in the instructions for use.

We regret that you experienced this. That is why we can do you an appropriate offer for a new flat-jack, if you send us your invoice you got from us. You can ask for this offer through our contact form.

Answer: for flat-jacks that you bought elsewhere (for example in another country or through parallel or grey import) and not directly at us as importer, you cannot claim guarantee at us. But you can try to claim your guarantee at the company you bought them.

If that other company does not help you, then we can do you an appropriate offer for another flat-jack to replace your old flat-jack. In this case inform us in detail through our contact form, and do not forget to enclose an invoice of the company that delivered the flat-jack to you.

This might happen if you buy the flat-jack at other companies than ours, as official importer. In that case you cannot claim guarantee at our place, but only at the company where you bought your flat-jack. Most foreign dealers or parallel/grey importing dealers do not give guarantee, and do not know the flat-jack product in detail like us. They only sell, and are mostly not there to help you afterwards in a guarantee case. Also they often deliver the 6 cm high flat-jacks instead of the better 12 cm ones that we deliver, and they do not tell you or even say they do the 20 cm versions but deliver the 6 cm ones. So beware and never buy there!

Out advice: just buy your flat-jack directly at us as official importer, then you are sure of the official works 2 year flat-jack guarantee and serious support!

Answer: only if you buy the flat-jacks directly at us, you get 2 year works guarantee on your flat-jacks. On flat-jacks bought elsewhere we do not give guarantee and you also cannot claim guarantee at us on flat-jacks bought elsewhere. We are exclusive importerf or the flat-jack works in the countries of Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, and France, but we deliver the flat-jacks through our webshop also to all clients in all other countries. Delivery worldwide. You get an official VAT invoice and guarantee document for 2 years.

Answer: when the valve cap is completely turned loose from the valve, it may happen that the flat-jack, under the force of the recreational vehicle, is lowered too fast. This means that all the air in the flat-jack is forced out of the little valve with extreme pressure. This may result in an extra alternative pressure on the inner partitions of the flat-jack. These partitions can then rest partly upright instead of move completely down when the flat-jack is lowered. Your flat-jack keeps on functioning without a problem and inflating is just like always, but storing your flat-jack completely flat is not possible. The motto is: Just follow the instructions for use and let the flat-jack lower gradually. Do not take the valve cap completely off the flat-jack at lowering procedure, but only unscrew the valve cap partially to let the air flow out of the flat-jack gradually. Just like you do when you lower the flat-jack a little at leveling your vehicle. Also lower your vehicle at the end of your stay like this, until she is completely on the flat flat-jack. Then you can store your flat-jack flat. This is not a guarantee case, because you have to follow the instructions for use.

Guarantee
